   Register as an Advertiser    

When you register as an advertiser you simply ensure that the "Ads" menu appears every time you login to Cenimar. Registering is free and there is no commitment to place any ads.

If you have not yet registered, please click register information now.

   New Ad Campaign    
Before you create your first ad you must create an Ad Campaign. In your Ad Campaign you declare how much money you want to spend (your budget), when you want the ads to start publishing and where you want them to publish.

You can change the budget at any time - you can increase it or decrease it. Normally your Budget can't be less than $5.00. However, we allow you to leave it at $0.00 until you are ready to publish your first Ad.

From the Ads main menu select My Ad Campaigns.

You'll see a page that contains a button. Click that button (and not the example button shown on this page) and you'll see a form as follows:

Campaign Name: Give your advertising campaign a name.
Total Budget: $ 0.00

Specify how much US$ you wish to spend on this campaign. You can increase this or lower it later. When you set up individual ads you will specify how much of this budget will be allocated per day.

For a new campaign, you can leave this at $0.00 and set a value later.

Used Budget: $ 0.00 This lists how much of your budget has already been spent.
Start Date:
e.g. 18 Aug 2006
Specify the day when you want ads for this campaign to start appearing.

Cancel Changes

At this point all you need to set is the Campaign name. In this example we'll change it to "My First Campaign".

Don't forget - the forms on this page do not work. They are examples only!

After clicking on you'll be back at the My Ad Campaigns page and you'll see:

   Your First Ad    

On the new My Ad Campaigns page, click on the [Create a new Ad Group for campaign: My First Campaign] link and you'll see the form:

Ad Group Name: This does not appear as part of the ad. It is simply used for activity reporting.
Daily Budget: $ 0.00

Budget for this one Ad per day. You can enter $0.00 while you setup the ad or if you don't want this particular ad to publish yet.

A budget of $0.10 per day may get you as many as 400 ad views (impressions) per day.

Maximum CPM: $ 0.50

$

Specify the maximum Cost Per Thousand Impressions (CPM) that you are willing to pay for this ad. The minimum value is $0.25.

The rate you are actually charged may often be lower than your maximum (bid) rate - though it will never be lower than $0.25 per thousand imressions.

Ad Display URL: The URL (link) to your website that users will see. [35 char max.]

This does not need to be a complete link. You do not need to include the "http://www." prefix.

Ad Target URL: The complete link to your web site. [1024 char max.]

e.g. http://www.mysite.com/mypage.asp?myargs=1

Cancel Changes

Setup the text of you ad and your daily budget figures. When you set the text (headline and content) of your Ad, remember:

  • The headline needs to grab the readers attention.

  • The body of the Ad (line 1 and line2) need to convince the reader to visit your website.

  • Put yourself in the position of a person viewing your ad who may never have heard of you or your site/product. Will the Ad make sense to them?

  • Experiment! You can easily change the Ad once it is live - it does not cost extra money to change an Ad.

Once you have saved the changes to your Ad, make sure you click on the prototype ad to test the target location. If the link to your website is bad then the Ad won't do you much good!

A Maximum CPM of $0.25 may be ok if you just want to publish on member pages. If you want to go on non-member pages also, you'll need a Maximum CPM of at least $0.50. The next section of this documentation page will show you how to list target locations and see their cost (in CPM).

Even if you set a Maximum CPM of $1.00, it will still only cost you $0.25 per thousand-impressions when the Ad appears on pages rated at that level. However, when your Ad appears on a $0.50 CPM rated page, it will cost $0.50 for one thousand impressions on that page. The calculation is done on an individual impression basis. We publish your Ad on the first page available (within your target page range) when your Ad comes up for publishing. Your Ad is scheduled to give you an even impression distribution throughout the 24 hr day.

Remember that your Ad won't publish until after you setup your Ad Campaign budget.

If you are ready to publish your Ad to Cenimar users, then you can go back to the My Ads Campaign page, click on the campaign name link, then setup your initial budget. Once you set a budget (on a new campaign), your Ad will be live within an hour.

   Location, Location, Location    

By default, your Ads will appear on any cenimar.com page that has a minimum CPM requirement that matches your Ad.

If you'd like to be more specific about where your Ads display, go to the main My Ad Campaigns page then click on the Target Locations: Any link. The following page will appear:

Cancel Changes

Note that the actual Page View and Minimum CPM figures shown above are examples. The actual figures will be different.

The locations immediately under "Any" represent the main sections of Cenimar, closely matching our main menu options.

Under Market, the lower levels represent Prediction Market activity for the different categories of Prediction Contracts, with the Trade Location representing trading activity unrelated to a specific category of Contract.

General:Home is the home page for cenimar.com.

You use the above form to select the locations that you'd like the Ads in your Campaign to appear. It's one set of locations per Campaign. If you want different Ads to appear in different Locations then you'll need to setup different Campaigns for those Ads.

   Making Changes    

When your Ad is live you can continue to make changes.

You can change any Ad or Ad Campaign by going to the My Ad Campaigns page and clicking on the item that you want to change:

    Changes to your Ad Campaign Budget will be effective the day after you make the change.

    Changes to the Target Locations will be effective within 20 minutes.

    Changes to your Ad text will be effective immediately.

    Changes to the Daily Unused Budget for an individual Ad will be effective immediately.

If you create a new Ad on an existing, released Ad Campaign:

    The new Ad will not publish until the following day unless you click on the Daily Unused Budget field and manually assign a budget for the current day.

    Make sure that you set a daily budget of $0.00 until the new Ad is ready to be seen by others. Otherwise the new Ad may get published before it is complete.
